Funny stories that are 2 seconds long..

Or at least that is what my night seems to be. Just think, 2 seconds ago photobucket told me I was forbidden to see my own account page (I love maintenance work, don't you?) And here I thought I'd be nice and get some new photos out for everyone to see. No dice! Also, while I was waiting for the bus this evening (in the cold might I add- yes we are having a bit of a cold front, and I of course gave a sarcastic comment when someone decided to point out the obvious...) a couple of the custodial cas members were sitting around and started trying to quote the "Who's on first" sketch, and all I could do was picture Kristy and Mike doing it in pirate form. I had to content myself with a smile so as to not scare anyone.

Thanks to work yesterday, I got to see the sun rise. and no I wasn't because I worked early. Try this - I got out at 4am, went with Dani to Steak 'n' Shake to quell our midnight munchies, didn't get home till a quarter to 6, and of course couldn't get to sleep till 7am. I love my job, really I do.

so last week went by pretty fast. Monday I had off, Tuesday was a wonderful 12 hour shift. My feet stung whenever I walked. Wednesday I had off and was supposed to go with Amy to Downtown Disney (cause I've never gone and she wants to take me) and then I was going to take her to Fantasmic for her birthday since had never gone. However, as you all noticed, i used the word "supposed". As you may have guessed, that didn't happen. Amy had to go to the doctor's that afternoon and found out that she had pink eye...in both of her eyes. So she was quarantined for the next two days and we have since rescheduled for this Wednesday.
Thursday was interesting to say the least. First off, I had my research paper due that morning at 8am for organizational leadership, and had to a bit of work on it the night before. Oh, and my alarm didn't go off!! That's always a treat. Of course I also had to be at a housing meeting at 8am as well (got out of the first hour of class cause this was a little more important). In regards to that...remember those room mates that moved out. Yah, they decided to pull to "race card" on me and two of my other room mates, and said we blamed them for everything that we did because they were black. They wish!! To say the least the case is closed due to there not being any efficient evidence to support their case. I just feel bad for the HR people who had to deal with it, it was a serious waste of their time.
Friday was a P&P party, and for once it wasn't raining. I was spectacular! NO WET SOCKS!! HRRAY!!! Saturday was, well work, and Then as I said Sunday I worked till 4am.
However it was a lot of fun because us girls in the back room decided to start belting show tunes out of boredom. Yes we did sound like dog whistles once in a while, but we didn't care. Plus our manager Brian came back and told us to sing Popular. We all just gave him he look of "are you serious?" which he interpreted as "what?" and therefore sang the first few lines of the song for us. It was amazing to say the least.

And now I must bid you all a magical night, cause it is way past Cinderella's bed time.
Hopefully I can get into my own photobucket account soon, so you can all see some new/old pictures!

Update!!!

So I have been seriously neglecting my blog, and for that I am truly sorry. You see I haven't had the patience to sit down and write, but since I have the time before work I think I shall.
Patience has been a virtue as of late however it finally ran out (hence the reason I haven't written). The reason for this is that Spring break ended on Sunday and after working late hours and dealing with some rather cranky guests it's obvious that you could stick a fork in me, cause I'm DONE!!! Due to this I was rather glad to have gone back to the weekly Pirate and Princess Parties (we had two this week). Also something else major happened. My two room mates moved out. Yes, you read that right - MOVED OUT! And the four of us that were left threw a little party for ourselves. Granted we were slightly sad to see the one go, but the other we were about ready to offer our help with the packing just to get her out faster.
Now, I can't remember if I said anything about the one room mate, but suffice to say she had a real problem with following the apartment rules, aka the rules she not only agreed on, but helped create...aka no boys in the apartment after 1 AM. Yah...guess who liked to have sllepovers with her new boyfriend. Anyways, it finally came to a head and my one room mate and I went and talked to security. P.S. she lied to us about somethings. Take a guess who almost flew off the handle when she found this out... guess I'm way to predictable aren't I. Anyways, tto make a long story short, we talked with security and housing and she ended up deciding to move out, and as for the other one, we aren't sure why she moved out but really we could care less. Does this make me a bad person? I'm not sure, but I do know that I'm definitely the lesser of two evils. Besides, I expect respect, and woe to she who feels otherwise inclined.

On a happier note We have had to P&P parties this week and so I was thrilled to stand at tunnel and dance along like the dork that I am! The only problem is that all the spring showers are moving in, so while it's tradition for it to rain on P&P nights, it's actually been more along the lines of thunder storms (oh, look it's raining again). But that's alright, well it was until the humidity moved in. But what was worse was last night I not only had the pleasure of killing a cockroach on stage due to a custodial girl not wanting to mess up her shoes (yah, I don't get it either) but I also had to play mother to my cast mate Amy. Did my usual 'hi, how are you' when I saw here last night and was greeted with a not so good as she slumped against the wall. Mother mode time. She had a fever, the chills and her eyes were slightly glazed. First words out of my mouth "Get an ER and go home." She didn't agree with me, so me being the worrier that I am gave the one manager a heads up. The only problem is that our closing manager wouldn't let her leave last night after she asked for an ER (and this was by the girl who only ever asks to extend). He then told her he was sick as well, however he only had a cough where as she was about to collapse. Guess how many of us were happy with him come close. Whatever. I made sure she did the least strenuous work and gave her Motrin until she left, cause sadly that was all I could do. But she got to go home a little early, and hopefully she got right into bed.

The rest of the week has been spent doing normal work and attempting to get back into a regular sleep pattern. Not succeeding quite yet, but I'll get there. On the other hand, starting tomorrow, I refuse (let me repeat that REFUSE) to work stroller register. They "re-evaluated" the stroller prices and singles went from $10 to $15 and doubles went from $18 to...$31. I think I'm gunna lose my head, or maybe just the money that people wont spend on strollers. Hmm....I foresee this becoming very UGLY. Thank God I'm leaving in six weeks. No, wait less than that. HOLY COW!! I leave in less than six weeks!!! Time sure flies when you're having fun.

But I fear I now must fly due to having to leave in bout 40 0 minutes for work, as well as stop by the front desk in order to pick up a new key (yah, they change your locks after your room mates move out). So hopefully this has quenched everyone's thirst for Floridian knowledge for now.
Ciao!!!

P.S. I finally got my pictures downloaded to my computer and am in the process of uploading them to Photobucket. WEEEEE!!!!

WARNING: UPDATE OVER-HAUL AHEAD

Ok, so people have pointed out that I've had a lack of updates recently, and upon checking the date of my last post I might be inclined to agree. So here we go...
March 8th - work
March 9th - Work...that lasted till 3:45 AM. By the way, no matter where you are in the world, 5am is still dark.
March 10th - work
March 11th - Went to a Pirate and Princess Party. Yup, you read right. Instead of working the P&P party that night, I had the honors of going to the party with my room mate Becca. So much FUN, and so many pictures. The pictures include ones with the one and only Jack Sparrow, me in front of Cinderella's coach (by the way, there is so much glitter on that thing that I believe a craft store went out of business just so they could do it) and so much more. Some of my favorites include the pictures we took while on Cinderella's Carousel. Also, before the party my roomie was the sweetest and gifted me with a tiara so that we could go as the Pirate (her) and the Princess (me, and in my pink skirt no less). We collected strands of beads (sadly they weren't giving out jewels that night), danced with Flounder at Ariel's Grotto, had some of the best cinimon glazed almonds EVER, and got soaked on Splash Mountain. To say the least it was a blast. Also, I got the cutest zip up hoodie ever.
March 12th - I thankfully had the day off, and I'm fairly certain I slept till some obscene hour of the afternoon. In fact I've done a lot of that lately.
March 13th - class from 8-5pm and then work from 7:15-1:15am. A nice point in the middle of all this is that one of my group members in my Exploring Marketing class has a friend who makes home made chocolates and she shared them with us. Oh, were those good.
March 14th- I spent the day at work. 10:15am - 8:45pm to be exact. I just love 9 hour days don't you. Also, for those of you keeping track at home, yes that's more than 9 hours, but I only got paid for 9. Joy.
March 15th- Work...there seems to be a bit of a pattern here.
March 16th- Work 6:30pm - 4:00 AM. And this is the beginning of the end ladies and gentlemen.
March 17th - HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY!!! I wore green, made up a St. Patrick's day table for my room mates, had corned beef and cabbage at Bennigan's, and then proceeded to work for the next 12 hours over at the magic kingdom. Yup, you read right. Like I said, it's the beggining of the end. Welcome to Spring Break at Walt Disney World.
March 18th - work...it was thankfully only 6 hours that day.
March 19th - OFF!!! And so begins the delightful habit of sleeping till 2 in the afternoon at the EARLIEST!
march 20th - No classes, but I did work 11 hours yesterday. Oops, I mean 11.3 hours. Let me tell you how nice my coming pay check will be. But I will say, as long as you work mornings, long hours seem to go by fast. It's just long evening shifts that go by slowly. At least they do when your in the back room. I have my fingers crossed that I get the tunnel position tonight.
And then there's tonight. I get to work from 8:45-4:45am tonight. JOY...I smell an IHOP breakfast in my near future. i also smell a clean kitchen. Oh wait, that's right, I smell a clean kitchen because I just cleaned it...AGAIN!!! So I'm turning into my mother, what yah gunna do?

Now however I do need to go catch a bus to work, so I will hopefully write again soon. If not, know it is because exhaustion is keeping me from moving.
Love everyone and Happy Easter!

A week has gone by...

therefore you all deserve an update. Sad to say there's not too much, but there is some. My brother turned 15th on the 2nd, so if you know him and see him, wish him a happy belated birthday.

On Monday and Tuesday I had the privilege of working the morning shifts. At least I had my Ids this time, right!?! Also for anyone looking at dates...don't ask me how it works but for some odd reason my last update apparently happened the 28th. For the record I posted the 29th. You might be thinking "what ever Lindsay, we didn't notice until now..." but I was slightly confused. Moving on.

Wednesday I had off, as did 3 of my room mates. So Becca, Riley, Victoria and I spent the day at Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios. Lots of pictures were taken, as usual (and as usual, I have no idea as to when I'll get them up). Had lots of fun on Everest and interestingly enough It's Tough to be a Bug is actually kind of creepy. No, really. They do things that make you scream. Also, if you don't like bugs, especially spiders, don't go. However, on the upside, while you're waiting they have bugs buzzing well known Broadway tunes while you're waiting. The posters for said shows (in spoof form) are all over the walls. I think my favorite is still Antie is my favorite. Sorry Annie, you have been replaced by a red ant.
Hollywood is always fun. We did Tower of Terror twice and found there is this really creepy puppet that sits on top of luggage at the end of the ride. I don't think Victoria will be riding again anytime soon. I also found that I don't go into such a bad state of shock on Tower of Terror if I keep my eyes open. Who'd of thunk? Afterwards we decided to do the Back Lot Tour since we'd never done it before. It was Ok. There was a cool part where they give you first hand experience on how an action scene (earthquake and flash flood included) is shot on a scaled set. They also have all these props from movies out in the mini "bone yard". Sadly I was on the wrong side so I didn't get much of any shots which is sad cause they had motor-cycles from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, as well as the steam roller from Who Framed Rodger Rabbit, and two of the smaller ships from Star Wars (one was a snow cruiser the other was the sand cruiser). At the end was the really cool part. They had a little gallery entirely devoted to villains, so there were costumes and props from several of the more well known (including Joker, Two face, the Penguin, Vader and the live action Cruella De Vil).
Afterwards we went and ended up getting one of those put your face on this body pictures. We did a Star Wars one and we couldn't stop laughing about it...still can't in fact. Not sure if it's because 3 of us are now men, and look good to boot, or if it's because Victoria - the whitest of us all - posed as Master Windoo (Samuel L. Jackson's character). But, whatever. I was so much fun. We of course ended the nigh with Fantasmic where John Smith proceeded to do a "white man's dance" (you all know it...the shaking of the hips and pumping your arms in a circle dance) on the top of the steam boat at the end. Then we went to super Target. We were all pretty excited, let me tell you. Kind of sad ain't it. But it had a Starbucks, and cheaper groceries than Walmart or Publix, so you might be able to understand where I'm coming from.

Thursday was spent in class. Organizational Leadership is always fun. Heck, with a teacher like Frank it's kind of hard not to have fun. Exploring Marketing was really quite interesting since we had one of the managers from World/ Domestic marketing come in and talk to us. Sadly I can't ell you anything, otherwise I'd have to kill you. No, really. I was privy to information not allowed outside of Disney. Sorry. afterward I had a Pirate and Princess party, where it poured. I love rain it makes cranky guests go away.

And speaking of rain, we had a ton tonight. But the cool part was that we had a lightning storm where there was like a second between light and sound. Except for one...aka the one that struck the Main Street flagpole. Yes, you read right. Lightening struck the flagpole right outside the building I work in. Sadly I didn't see it due to be suck in the back, but I did see the light and hear it, and then heard about the happenings afterwards. Either way it was uber awesome, in my humble opinion. A group of us then went to Steak and Shake (Yah we have one right by the apartments!!!!) after we got out, due to early releases.

Oh that was nice, but bed would be nicer, so I bid you all a good night. Or perhaps a good morning since it's now 3 am. Also, I lied. There was a lot to write about. Sorry.

Today was a bit rough.

Woke up late, couldn't find my IDs, and got in to work an hour late. Gotta love when that happens, but the day got a little better as is went on. However, I was surprised to find strange bug bites on my feet this morning that have caused my toe and part of my heel to swell up and make it hurt to walk. I asked if there was a chance of bed bugs and co-workers informed me that the bites would have been all over my body, but should defiantly keep my eyes open. Wonderful. Oh well, moving on.

Last night was lots of fun though. Victoria and I were the only ones home so we decided to make dinner together. We made broccoli and carrots in a garlic-y sauce, corn on the cob, biscuits, and I made the pork chops. Now my siblings would be the first to tell you that me and cooking don't always work well together, however the pork chops were perfect. I drizzled them with Italian dressing and put slices of orange on each one and cooked them for 40 min at 400 degrees and mmmmmm... were they good. plus I made Barbie dream jell-o for a going away party we had for some of my managers today. I was informed that I was a regular Betty Crocker, I said what's your point.

Wednesday was nice, a bit cold, but nice. Ok so most of you are dealing with snow, but breezy and 50 some degrees is kind of cold when you only have a sweatshirt, but whatever, you can't win them all. However you can win when you get to go to Epcot with your Aunt and crazy Uncle. Yes, Uncle Dick and Aunt Carol came to visit (for those who couldn't figure it out) and I took them to Epcot for the day. They loved Mission: SPACE, wouldn't do it again do the intensity, but they thought it was cool. We did Test Track a few times. The reason we did it more than once was my Uncle was like a small child begging his parents to let him do it again. Speeding in a car..how could you refuse him, it was like being back in the cobra.
We then went to the world expo area were we had reservations for dinner at Tutto Italia (the Italian restaurant). Now that was delightful, and that is an understatement. We had this wonderful appetizer that included a bunch of Italian specialties, for dinner I had this pasta with a cream sauce chunks of ham and peas. But it was defiantly the dessert that got me. I had this chocolate mousse with berry sauce and fresh berries on the side. Mmmmm... it makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
We then walked around for a while then watched fireworks at 9pm. All in all an excellent day.

Tuesday was a Pirate and Princess party were I had the privilege of looking like a drowned rat on multiple occasions thanks to the rain. Crossing the fingers for clear weather for tomorrow nights party.

Tonight I have come to remember my enjoyment of tuna salad...I knew Lent was good for something besides loosing weight. Also, I just found my ID's...seems they got caught between my mattress and the wall. Go me, not gunna happen again.

I bid you all a good night and hope you have a wonderful day tomorrow.

Still sick...

But at least I can now function. Right, so the last post was on Tuesday, and everything seemed to happen on Wednesday. First of all I pretty much lost my voice - yes, Lindsay had sexy sickness voice - and then we all had a house meeting. We cleared up some basic cleaning issues (like leaving a dirty pan in the sink for 3 days till someone got tired of looking at it, or needed it) and that we didn't want the new boyfriend in the apartment after 2 am. BOOOOOM!!!! No really. It started out ok, really. We were calm and handled it like adults. Then the irrational "lets raise our voice" part came into play, followed by the lets get out of control, then Lindsay (with here broken, squeeky voice no less) told the girl (I'm not naming anyone in this post) to calm down in a rather loud voice. Yes I yelled and she went postal. By the end of the night everything was cleared up, he won't be staying here past 2am, and the girl really doesn't talk to us anymore. Nothing new there I'm afraid.

Thursday I had class, which is starting to become a much loved class by the way, and we did some basic analysis to see what our strengths and weaknesses are. Apparently my strengths are boldness (go figure) and self-renewal. Now self-renewal doesn't mean what you all think. It actually means that when there's a problem I'll exhaust all ways I can think of to solve it, and if all else fails will turn around and either ask for help or read up on the subject. Not bad. Plus we're doing mock interviews next week where our teacher will show us how we can name those traits in an interview for a leadership position. By the way Dad, you were right. This is probably the best possible class for me to take.

Friday was the Pirate and Princess Party, and as always I enjoyed it. It's kind of hard not too. You always see the kids dressed up in the costumes (the parents get into it too and let me tell you, that can be interesting to say the least), and there are less people so it stays relatively calm after 8-8:30-ish. Not to mention the better music. No really, I love Hello Dolly! the Music Man, and Oklahoma, but when you here the score to their more mozy-dozy songs continuously for hours on end, they start to get annoying. So songs you can sing to are a rather enjoyable reprieve. We also found a dead cockroach in one of the incoming strollers. We don't know how it got there (no one screamed, so I think the kids in the stroller didn't even notice), but it was on its back and in perfect condition. So we being who we are in the back, picked it up and laid it on a towel to show everyone later. That didn't happen. Jonas (our closing manager that night) walked back saw it and proceeded to crush it with the a dust pan. What was more entertaining was the grossed out, manic look on his face. It made me think of several girls I know, but that's besides the point. After that I pointed out that it was already dead and he told the room at large that that just made it all the easier. We laughed so hard, stacking seemed to be a little more fun the rest of the night.

And last night, I got stuck stacking strollers from 8 o'clock on. Man did I get a work out. The reason I say that is because that's when all the strollers come back - right after the parade and fireworks- so I was stacking as quickly as possible and getting said stacks out of the way. But nothing else spectacular I'm afraid.

And with that I bid you all a fond fair-well for I need to finish my coffee, then hop in the shower because I have work at 4.
Bye-bye.

Sickness = not cool

So as I’m sitting here I am enjoying a delicious meal of ham & cheese hot pocket, fruit punch and cold medicine. Lucky me. The first two look wonderful, but the cold medicine looks like it would taste like citrus, smells like cherry and tastes like…crap. Oh well, it was either that or pills, and we all know how well I do with those. And the alternative of allowing the cold just sit and continue to fester was not an option. Sorry to say but when it hurts to move your head up and down while stacking and cleaning strollers is a bit of a problem. And it isn’t just the pain that can be taken care of by some aspirin either (believe me, I tried). No it’s the type of pain that comes from a sore throat that makes the area of your neck where your skull and spine meet and that little sun burst area around it ach as though you slept on concrete all night. It also doesn’t help that the delightful sneeze that I have as well is the type of big sneeze that makes the throat hurt even more as well as being big enough to notify everyone to the fact your sick. By the way, I need to complain cause my mommy isn’t here to listen to my sob story right now. In fact I think she’d find a way of hurting me if I called her up at 2:45 am. So you all get to hear it.

On happier note, we girls in the backroom had a bit of a Broadway review this evening. Interestingly enough I knew more of the songs – and the words to them – than anyone else there. The angel like voice I own at the moment defiantly put all the cats that are dieing out there tonight to shame. I think the only reason someone didn’t throw something at my head was because I was that annoying bouncing Mickey head on the sing-along videos. Either way, it was fun and gave us all that extra boost of energy needed for the closing shift.

Now, for those of you that are curious, I did work Saturday and at the end of the night accidentally sprayed myself with a hose when cleaning out the trash run container. This however was fine by me cause A) it made me laugh, and B) because most of those trash bags are filled with half drunk sodas, I had soda running down my wrist to my shirt sleeve, and the sudden spray helped clean it all up. Kind of. My poor costume can not have the same thing said about it. Hence the reason it’s now in the laundry.

Yesterday I didn’t work however. In fact I sat by the pool and did homework in 80-something degree weather. It was fabulous, and it’s at times like those that I’m able to NOT be home sick.

I love you all, and wish you a cold/flu-less week.

P.S. I watched Power Rangers during my break tonight, and it made me giggle like the dork that I am.
